I was in court last week and had an opportunity to watch an experienced trial lawyer cross-examine an expert doctor on the witness stand in a medical malpractice case. I was shocked to see the worst cross examination ever in my 21 years of practice.
The attorney could barely formulate a question. He asked open-ended questions, allowing the expert to explain away most answers.
The lawyer violated every rule of cross examination and gave up total control of this witness. I actually felt bad sitting in court watching this spectacle. Watch the video to learn why.
